About The Campaign

The books not bombs campaign is about the role that the University of Nottingham plays in international conflict, in particular in relation to the recent catastrophe in Gaza.

The university has for a long time had numerous links with arms companies, in the form of research contracts, financial investments (through the university’s banking and pension arrangements) and the willingness to allow weapons manufacturers to recruit on campus.

The university also has an appalling record of disrupting political expression on campus. It was the violent suppression of the recent occupation of B62 which marked the beginning of the books not bombs campaign. See occupationnottingham.wordpress.com for details.
